The Poeme Collection was created to complete Poiat’s furniture line that forms a unified space with its designs.

Graceful and poetic, yet robust, the Poeme Shelf comes in four different size options. The shelves embrace the refined design of the wooden panels and skilled material usage, which is polished into the finest details.

Taking its name from the French word “Poème”, meaning a poem, the design process was inspired by rounded, old wooden Finnish tools and Japanese architecture.

“As with many other of our designs, we like to combine classic Finnish design elements with international influences – it creates an atmosphere that feels at the same time traditional but also contemporary”, tells Timo Mikkonen, the Head of Design at Poiat Studio.

“I have always liked the tangible spirit of the old, beautifully worn Finnish tools. With Japanese architecture, I am inspired by its analogy that aims to outline a space using modular structures and focus on creating meaningful details through skilled craftsmanship”, continues Mikkonen.

The products of the collection can serve as bookshelves, tv stands or just plainly as a frame for beautiful objects. Featuring a modular and minimal design, the Poeme Shelves are well-suited for both public and private spaces. The free-standing shelves are manufactured of solid oak in Finland and come in three colour variations — Oak, Dark Oak, and Black.
